Most visitors see the Malecon and go back to the hotel. In one day, you'll see the Puerto Vallarta most people miss: Old Town on foot, the jungle coastline by van, and a tequila tasting in a riverside village at the foot of the Sierra Madre.
Walk the Malecon and its sculptures with a certified bilingual guide, visit the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the house where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton lived, and shop the municipal market. Then ride the coast south past Los Arcos and Mismaloya to Las Juntas y Los Veranos for lunch by the river and a tequila tasting.
No surprises: pickup is 7:45 to 10:00 am depending on your hotel, and you're back 5:30 to 6:15 pm. We stop at a jewelry shop with a free drink and restrooms; buying is optional. Lunch is not included and is paid at the restaurant.

Pickup time depends on your hotel: Nuevo Vallarta and Punta de Mita from 7:45 to 9:50 am, South Zone and Romantic Zone 8:40 to 9:25 am, Hotel Zone 9:30 to 9:55 am, Marina Vallarta 10:00 am. We send your exact pickup time and spot (hotel lobby or a nearby meeting point) by WhatsApp or email the afternoon before. Please be ready 5 minutes early. Drop-off runs from about 5:30 pm (Marina Vallarta) to 6:15 pm (Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta).

Walk the Malecon boardwalk with your guide: the Puerto Vallarta letters, the Seahorse sculpture, the Los Arcos amphitheater and the monument to Ignacio L. Vallarta, with stories about the city's history and time for photos.

2Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe

4Puerto Vallarta
Short stop at a silver and opal jewelry shop in Old Vallarta: learn about local mining, enjoy a complimentary drink and use clean restrooms (15 to 20 minutes; buying is optional). Then continue south to the riverside village of Las Juntas y Los Veranos for lunch by the river (1 to 1.5 hours; lunch is not included and is paid at the restaurant) and a tequila tasting where you learn how tequila is made (45 to 60 minutes; purchases optional).
