Sayulita is the surf town everyone talks about, and San Pancho is the one locals keep to themselves. See both in one day, without renting a car or figuring out the highway.
Your bilingual guide tells the story of the coast as you head north along Banderas Bay. First stop: a family stand of traditional Mexican sweets to taste. Then explore San Pancho, a relaxed village of art, surf and a long golden beach. Next, a ranch just outside Sayulita welcomes you for a tequila tasting, with its restaurant right there if you want lunch. Then the afternoon is yours: two hours of free time in Sayulita to walk the main square, browse the shops, watch the surfers or take a lesson.
No surprises, upfront: pickup is between 7:40 and 11:00 am depending on your hotel, and you're back around 5:45 pm. Lunch and drinks are paid at the ranch restaurant, so bring some cash. Sayulita and San Pancho are on the same time as Puerto Vallarta.

Pickup time depends on your hotel: South Zone and Romantic Zone from 7:40 am, Hotel Zone 8:30 to 8:55 am, Marina Vallarta 9:00 am, Nuevo Vallarta and Punta de Mita 9:05 to 11:00 am (on the way north). We send your exact pickup time and spot (hotel lobby or a nearby meeting point) by WhatsApp or email the afternoon before. Please be ready 5 minutes early. Sayulita and San Pancho are on the same time as Puerto Vallarta.

On the way north, stop at a family stand of traditional regional sweets to taste (15 to 20 minutes, purchases optional). Then explore San Pancho (San Francisco), a relaxed village of art, surf and a long golden beach. Your guide explains its history, then you have time to walk the main street, take photos and browse local crafts.

2Sayulita
Just outside Sayulita, a family ranch welcomes you for a tequila tasting (about 40 minutes): learn how tequila is made and try it, with optional purchases. Its restaurant is right there if you want lunch, paid on the spot (about 1 hour). Then head into Sayulita, the colorful surf town and Pueblo Magico, for two hours of free time: walk the main square, browse the shops, watch the surfers or relax on the beach.
