Geeta Bhawan is a large complex located at the banks of holy river Ganga in Swargashram, Rishikesh. The huge complex of Geeta Bhawan has several discourse halls and over 1000 rooms for the comfortable stay of devotees free of cost. Geeta Bhawan is a major place for devotees from far away places as they get free stay during their holy dip in river Ganga with listening to discourses and meditation. The Bhawan, at once, can accommodate more than 2000 devotees and provides them free stay. This exquisite landmark is an iron suspension bridge built in 1986 to help people cross the sacred river Ganga. Ram Jhula is one of the two popular suspension bridges in Rishikesh and another one is Lakshman Jhula.
It is considered to be the spot where the drops of Amrit (Nector) fell over from the sky, while being carried in a pitcher by the celestial bird, Garuda after the Samudra Manthan
