Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It’s known for the striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its steep cobbled lanes. In the shady main square of Place Outa el Hammam is the red-walled Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon, and Chefchouen Ethnographic Museum. Fez - Ifran - Azrou -Merzouga sahara desert ( camel Trekking) After breakfast we leave Fes toward Merzouga sahara desert by crossing the plains of Saiss towards the Cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains past Ifran and Azrou to Midelt, where you will stop for lunch. Carry on crossing Ziz River driving past thousands of sky-scraping palm trees and fortified Kasbahs to Erfoud, then to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi, where you will ride camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing sahara desert. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY First stop: Cedar forest & wild Apes monkeys After breakfast we leave Fes toward Merzouga sahara desert by crossing the Cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains in Azrou to take pictures of the wild Apes monkeys than continue to Midelt, where you will stop for lunch.
Camel Tekking Carry on crossing Ziz River driving past thousands of sky-scraping palm trees and fortified Kasbahs to Erfoud, then to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi, where you will experience a true camel trekking to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We will have a traditional dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert.
Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes, possibly the best moment of Merzouga desert, than you will ride your camel back to the hotel where you will have shower and meet your guide. The road trip will feature one beautiful scene after including the stunning oasis of Tinghir where you will be able to take a walk along Todgha river bank visiting Berber villages and learning about the life style of the local inhabitants before you visit the magnificent Todgha Canyons and have lunch on the spot. In the afternoon, drive along the Kasbah road to Dades Valley where you will have the opportunity to visit one of the fortified Kasbahs before you arrive to your hotel in Dades Gorges. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY Stop at Todra Gorges The road trip will feature one beautiful scene after including the stunning oasis of Tinghir where you will be able to take a walk along Todra river bank visiting Berber villages and experience a free walking in Todra gorges. In the afternoon, drive along Dades Valley you arrive to your hotel in Dades Gorges.
The Todgha Gorges are a series of limestone river canyons, or wadi, in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, near the town of Tinerhir. Both the Todgha and neighbouring Dades Rivers are responsible for carving out these deep cliff-sided canyons, on their final 40 kilometres through the mountains
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your drive to Marrakech through the valley of one thousand Kasbahs (the Dades Valley). We will pass through the town of El Kelaa Mgouna where the roses grow in the spring. In May, the Festival of the Roses is held in this town. You will drive through the fertile oasis of Skoura, renowned for the cultivation of roses and palm trees. This fertile oasis has a fortified residence that once belonged to the most powerful family responsible for protecting the village and its land – this Kasbah deserves a visit! We will then continue through the ‘Moroccan Hollywood’ of Ouarzazate, where a lot of movies were shot like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and many others. You will stop here for a visit of the cinema studio or the museum. We will continue on to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1987. It has also been used as a filming location for many films and television shows, for example, Game of Thrones. You will be given the opportunity to explore the Kasbah for around 1 hour. We will then continue our journey to Marrakech through the windy road of the High Atlas Mountains to see the highest pass in Morocco, the Tizi n Tichka Pass (2260m altitude). We will stop for lunch in a restaurant in the mountains and then drive on to Marrakech. You will spend the night in Marrakech in a riad in the old Medina
