  The day starts from Rome at 7.30 am with air-conditioned minivan direction Assisi arriving at about 10.00 am free visit of the Shrine of the Porciuncula to Santa Maria degli Angeli continuation to Assisi center where you can visit the Basilica of San Francisco, free lunch (NOT INCLUDED) visit Santa Clara and finally return to Rome at 14.30 15.00 with arrival at the hotel at 17.30. Very important to respect the departure time so could be able to skip the trafic.Dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed.Knees and shoulders must be covered for both mem and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with dress requirements.

  The Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi (Italian: Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi; Latin: Basilica Sancti Francisci Assisiensis) is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual in Assisi, a town in the Umbria region in central Italy, where Saint Francis was born and died. It is a Papal minor basilica and one of the most important places of Christian pilgrimage in Italy. With its accompanying friary, Sacro Convento, the basilica is a distinctive landmark to those approaching Assisi. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000.

  Best known as the birthplace of St. Francis, Italy's patron saint, Assisi lies amid Umbria's rolling hills. Religious pilgrims have come here for centuries to visit the Basilica of San Francesco (where St. Francis is buried) and the Basilica of Santa Chiara (to see the tomb of St. Clare). Visit the Eremo delle Carceri to see caves where medieval hermits withdrew from the world. (You may find such solitude quite appealing—especially if you're here on a daytrip from Rome!)
