What sets this activity apart is the authentic, home-style experience led by locals who grew up cooking these dishes.

Instead of simply following a recipe, you will learn traditional techniques passed down through generations, such as stretching dough for Bosnian pita the same way Bosnian mothers and grandmothers do. The class focuses on cooking together, sharing stories, and experiencing true Bosnian hospitality while preparing a full meal with seasonal dishes, homemade juices, and traditional desserts.

What to expect

You will be welcomed with a traditional Bosnian coffee, where your host will introduce the dishes you will prepare and explain the ingredients and techniques used in Bosnian cuisine.

The class begins with a seasonal Bosnian dish, , which may include specialties such as stuffed peppers, Sataraš, Begova čora, or another traditional recipe depending on the season and your food preferences.

Next, you will learn how to prepare Burek or traditional Bosnian Pita from scratch. Using flour, water, salt, and a bit of patience, you will stretch the dough the traditional way, just like Bosnian mothers and grandmothers do, and create your own filling.

While the pies bake in the oven, you will prepare Klepe, small Bosnian dumplings often compared to ravioli, filled with meat or vegetables and cooked in boiling water.

At the end, enjoy the three-course meal you prepared together, served with refreshing homemade juices. For dessert, you will taste traditional sweets such as Sutlijaš or Hurmašice, a beloved Bosnian dessert.
