Venice has always been a unique melting pot of races and religions, coexisting while maintaining their uniqueness and mutual respect. This tour will take you to those areas of the city where you can still immerse yourself in the fascinating atmosphere of the East
The true "spiritual" beginning of the tour will be Campiello del Milion, where Marco Polo's house once stood and from where he departed on his epic journey to the East
Continuing towards the Cannaregio district, passing by the Church of the Abbazia della Misericordia and the Madonna dell'Orto, a meeting point between Eastern culture and the Renaissance art of Tintoretto, who had his studio here. Here you'll immerse yourself in a true Oriental atmosphere and admire the Palazzo del Cammello, the statues of the Moors, and the oldest Ghetto in the world, still inhabited by Venice's Jewish community and one of the most evocative places in the entire city
Before arriving in the Ghetto, stop at Fondamenta Ormesini for an espresso
Our staff awaits you with a yellow sail (45°26'01.3"N 12°20'13.3"E)
The tour will end in Campo del Ghetto Novo (45°26'43.4"N 12°19'36.9"E)
In this sestiere (Venetian quarter) of the city, the northernmost, communities from the East were concentrated, such as the Levantines from the Aegean, or the Jewish community, still present today.
