This off the beaten path tour is a great way to explore Garmisch-Partenkirchen and learn the people, culture, and history of this Alpine community. We start in Partenkirchen and then stop at a few local pubs along the way before leisurely heading into Garmisch for a few more bevi's and more history before ending at the world famous Schranne. A great way to make new friends and learn some history!
We meet all participants inside the Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station just next to the small coffee shop.
The tour concludes at the Schranne guesthouse and restaurant
We start by wandering over to Partenkirchen to learn the history and culture of this beautiful Alpine village before walking into the Post hotel for our first complimentary beer !
After our first beer empties we make our way into the Cantina, a Day Drinking Office, for a complimentary beverages and brotziet plate to snack on.
After a drink and snacks at Cantina we hop on the local bus which will bring us to Garmisch and the Richard Strauss Platz.
Using the city bus we arrive in Garmisch at the Richard Strauss fountain where our next beer awaits. A stop in the famous Pavilion for a beverage while discussing Strauss, Michael Ende, and more. We then wander slowly down through Garmsich city center towards Grassecker clothing store to discuss the history of Lederhosen and Dirndl.
We turn into the Schranne Beerhall where the tour concludes. We will be treated to another beverage and a few stories before calling it a night.
