    MARRAKECH - ATLAS TREK TO TOUBKAL REFUGE VIA AREMD

    We drive from Marrakech to Imlil through Asni hamlet after being picked up from our accommodation in the morning.

    Imlil

    We begin our two-day, one-night trip to Toubkal by passing through ‘Sidi Chamharouch.' We walk up to Aremd and then travel across the magnificent scenery after lunch. We continue on to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge, where we will eat supper and camp overnight.

    TREK TO SUMMIT OF TOUBKAL MOUNTAIN (4165M) - IMLIL

    This morning, we started our 5-day Combined Atlas and Desert Tour by attempting to peak Jbel Toukbal. It is Northern Africa's tallest summit. We hike in the Atlas highlands and cross the brook above the refuge. We reach the peak and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Views in all directions are available, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and the Sahara in the south.

    We then down the mountain to Refugees and returned to Imlil, where we stayed overnight at the Ghazal Hotel and had supper.

    Today, after being picked up at our accommodation in Imlil, we journey across the High Atlas Mountains, with a brief stop at the renowned Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.

    We visit the local kasbah here. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We proceeded on our journey to Ouarzazate after lunch.

    Our Combined Atlas and Desert Tour continues today, and we get up early to see the finest sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. We then returned by camel and, after breakfast, drove to Ouarzazate through Nkob and the Draa valley.
