Over the course of two days, hike from Imlil to Toubkal, then back to Imlil. This well-known mountaineering journey begins in Marrakech and travels through Imlil and many Berber settlements on its way to the summit of Morocco's highest peak.
We pick up you from the main square in Medina of Marrakech.
Your accommodation will serve as the starting point for your ascent of Toubkal. After being picked up by your guide, you will be taken in the direction of the south, towards the High Atlas Mountains.
After approximately an hour, we arrive in the High Atlas Mountains and make our way to the settlement of Imlil, which is known as a popular starting location for ascents of Toubkal (1740m). From this point on, you will begin walking and will meet the muleteers who are accompanying our party.
Explore the neighborhood of Imlil and make your way up the mountain while passing by the holy man of Sidi Chamharouch, where you will stop for lunch. After that, carry on up the mountain until you reach the Toubkal refuge at 3,207 meters, where you will spend the night. 5 to 6 hours of foot travel.
You should wake up early to avoid the sunshine path, eat breakfast about 5:00 am, and start the upward climb at 5:30 am. Each of you might need to carry his own pack-lunch, step by step, until you arrive to the point above the hut when you take a brief break with snacks like almonds, water, and oranges, etc. A stop of forty-five minutes on the summit will allow you to take pictures and enjoy the views before heading down to the hut, where a varied lunch will be waiting for you. After walking for three or four hours up the hill, you will have a view of all the high Atlas Mountains. You will also have a stunning view of the green valleys and the Berber villages.
Following lunch, you will continue your descent into Imlil along the same path. After that, we will transport you to the center of Marrakech. Toubkal ascent at the end of the summer.
