After breakfast, drive along the fine pitched road to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. We trek to Birethanti – a large riverside village located at the confluence of the Modi and Bhurungdi Kholas. Next, we climb above Sudame along the off-road and then rise gradually up to the side of the valley to Tikhedhunga.
Today we take a steep climb via a stone staircase to Ulleri, a large Magar village at an altitude of 2,070m. The trail rises gradually from this point through the magical forest of oak and rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2,250m. Then we trek to Nagethanti (2,460m) and a few hours' walk takes us to Ghorepani.

As we reach the grassy summit of Poon Hill, we get an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas and a panoramic view of Dolpo to the far western region, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre (fishtail) and Manaslu.
