Geiranger is the most popular destination in the Norwegian fjords region. During cruise season it can get quite crowded. All attractive places are occupied by thousands of tourists. However, we know how to avoid crowds and make the trip comfortable for our guests.

On our tour we will visit the most popular panoramic attractions and some local gems not accessible on the scheduled routes.

  • Geiranger (Pass by)

    Learn about the very first hotel in Geiranger village. The hotel was built in 1891, in wood, inspired by the dragon style or Swiss style. Julie and Karl Mjelva bought Hotel Union Geiranger in 1899. The industrious family also established a car factory, a power plant and a cooker factory in the area. Hotel Union has been extended and restored a number of times.

    Learn about the hotel for Royalty in Geiranger village. Hotel Utsikten is beautifully situated on a mountain slope overlooking Geiranger, with magnificent views of the fjord and mountains. Villa Utsikten was built in 1893, and the hotel underwent extensive redecorating and refurbishing in 2004.

    Geiranger Church is an octagonal church built in 1450 in timber, seating 120. The church was not a pure stave church, the extended chancel and armory were in round timber. The church was demolished in 1742, and a new cruciform church was built in 1744. The church was set fire to in 1841 and burned to the ground. The present church is the third we know of on the same site.
