A guided tour of about one hour into the history of the First World War in Italy. The tour starts every hour from 10 am to 5 pm: 10 am; 11 am; 12 am; 1 am; 2 pm; 3 pm; 4 pm; 5 pm last. An italian WW1 fortress intact with 4 Schneider's guns (french guns, the last in the world of this time) of 149S of caliber, yet rotating and elevating. Powder room, barraks, headquarters, underground tunnels...and a wonderful "belvedere" on the Como Lake. Forte Montecchio Nord was utilised to stop any invasion proveining from the North of Italy (Valtellina-Passo dello Stelvio; Valchiavenna-Passo dello Spluga). In WW2 this fortress has stopped the Mussolini column firing on the other side of the Como Lake. Her five heavy shoots where the last artillery shoots of WW2 in Italy, the 28th of April 1945.
