5Farol de Alfanzina/Alfanzina lighthouse
Perched atop the craggy, ochre-colored limestone cliffs of the Algarve, the Farol de Alfanzina (Alfanzina Lighthouse) serves as a sentinel over the Atlantic and a highlight of the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail. Established in 1920, this square white tower with its striking red lantern has spent over a century guiding ships through one of the most treacherous stretches of the Portuguese coastline.
