Koh Ker is an ancient temple complex located in northern Cambodia, approximately 120 kilometers from Siem Reap. It served as the capital of the Khmer Empire for a brief period during the early 10th century, specifically under King Jayavarman IV. The temple is enveloped by lush jungle, adding to its mystical atmosphere and providing a rich habitat for wildlife. After visiting Koh Ker, you can have lunch near Koh Ker temple. The drive of Koh Ker to Beng Mealea is 1 hour.
You will arrive Beng Mealea at approximately 2:30 PM. Beng Mealea was built as a Hindu temple dedicated to God Vishnu in Early 12 century. The architecture of Beng Mealea temple is similar to Angkor Wat temple, therefore the historical experts believed that Beng Mealea temple was the Practiced temple before building Angkor Wat temple. Its primary material is sandstone and it is largely unrestored, with trees and thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards and many of its stones lying in great heaps.
