The Arena, built in the first century, is an open-air Roman amphitheater still fully in use today. With seating for 30000 people, music connoisseurs come to Verona to enjoy operas and pop music concerts.

The famous piazza, ringed by elegant Renaissance palazzi, assumes still today political and administrative functions during the day but it is also the chosen location of the university crowd during the happy hour.

3Arche Scaligere
These remarkable funerary tombs commemorate the Scaliger family who ruled Verona on 13th and 14th century. The most representative monument of the Gothic art, the tombs are placed within an enclosure of wrought iron grilles decorated with a stair motif, referring to the name of the della Scala family, meaning "of the stairs" in Italian.

4Casa di Giulietta
This is the reason why most of the tourist visit Verona, to visit and listen to one of the most romantic and tragic love story written by Shakespeare. He did indeed take inspiration for his famous play from a true story of family rivalry, forbidden love and feuding, all of which happened in Verona during the 1300s.

5Piazza delle Erbe
Piazza delle Erbe, originally a Roman forum, is surrounded by buzzing cafes and some of Verona’s most sumptuous buildings. If you happen to be there during the week (Monday to Friday) you will also have a chance to do some shopping, there is a fruit and vegetables market in the morning.
