Take a 3-hour morning bike tour of Stanley Park and Downtown Vancouver. Pedal on bike paths, along the Vancouver seawall and down forest trails. The tour starts in the West End, moves through downtown to the Convention Centre and follows the shoreline of Coal Harbour to Stanley Park. The second half of the tour focuses on the history and art of the native peoples of the Pacific Northwest and the natural beauty of Stanley Park.
We meet inside the bicycle shop at 1754 Davie Street in Vancouver's West End. Please approach the counter and ask for the guide.
We will begin our tour at English Bay Bike Rentals. Riders will receive a brief intro outlining the route, bicycle safety and washroom breaks.
Stopping at the famous rainbow intersection, riders will receive a brief history of the LGBTQ community in Vancouver.
Riders will stop at Mole Hill for a glimpse of the largest collection of heritage homes in the city.
Guests will take a short walk around Robson Square for views of the art gallery, law courts, ice rink and the downtown financial towers.
Riders will stop quickly outside of the Marine Building for a brief history of one of Vancouver's most iconic buildings.
The tour stops at the Convention Centre for views of the mountains and the inner harbour. Guests are told the history of the era and its significance during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Attractions within this area include the Olympic Cauldron and the Digital Orca statue by Douglas Coupland.
Stopping at Lost Lagoon, riders will hear a quick history of Stanley Park and will be introduced to the park's ecology.
The last half of the morning bicycle ride is spent in Stanley Park. We visit Lost Lagoon, Totem Park, Beaver Lake, Lions Gate Bridge, Siwash Rock, Third Beach, Second Beach and English Bay.
Riders travel on the world famous seawall for 2/3 of the ride. The seawall is the longest connected city waterfront path in the world. It is divided between cyclists and pedestrians for everyone's safety.
Riders will see Vancouver's version of Copenhagen's 'The Little Mermaid'.
Rider's will stop below the Lions Gate bridge for an amazing photo opportunity.
