On your travel date, access to the Forbidden City by using your passport at the entrance--South Gate. This is an E-ticket, no need to change paper ticket. Forbidden City opening time: April 1 to October 31--8:30am to 4:00pm. November 1 to March 31-- 8:30am to 3:30pm. This is only for passport holders. Enter from Meridian Gate (in Chinese午门). If you take a cab, please ask driver to drop you off at East Gate (in Chinese 东华门) or West Gate(in Chinese 西华门), then you need to walk to Meridian Gate.
