Day 1
Pick you up at your Beijing downtown hotel and drive to Hanging Temple

Hengshan Hanging Temple (Xuankong si)
Your friendly English speaking driver will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:00am and drive about 4 hours to Datong Hanging Temple. Upon arrival, have lunch nearby first (on your own cost), then visit to the Hanging Temple. Afterwards, drive to your hotel in Datong (at your own arrangement).

Day 2
Visit Yungang Grottoes and Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, then drive to Wutaishan

Yungang Grottoes
Your driver will pick you up at 8:00am at your Datong hotel and head to Yungang Grottoes, where you will spend 3-4 hours.

After enjoy a local lunch, continue to Ying Xian Wooden Pagoda. 90 minutes later, meet your driver and transfer to Wutaishan (about 3 hours driving time).

Day 3
Visit Bodhisattva Temple(Summit Bodhisattva), Xian Tong Temple, Luohou Temple at Wutaishan

Your driver will pick you up at 8:30.a.m and transfer to Wutaishan. Mount Wutai has 47 Buddhist temples. You can visit some of them. Below itinerary is just an example for you.

First, visit the Bodhisattva Temple (Summit Bodhisattva), a major temple at the northern end of the temple complex. On the top, you will have a spectacular views of the mountains.

Then walk down to Xian Tong Temple, the largest Temple with the longest history among 47 Buddhist temples at Mount Wutai.

Continue to Luohou Temple. If you are interested to visit other temples, you can still go and visit. After that, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 4
Visit Dailuo Ding of Wutai Mountain and Shuxiang Temple, then drive to Pingyao City

Meet your driver in the morning and transfer to Mount Wutai, continue visit Dailuo Ding of Wutai Mountain and Shuxiang Temple. After Wutaishan visiting, you can continue to the surrounding scenic area based on your interests. Then stop for a local lunch.

Pingyao County
After lunch, driver to Pingyao City (about 4 hours driving time). Your driver will drop you off at your hotel (at your own arrangement)

Day 5
Zhangbi Ancient Castle, Pingyao Ancient City and Pingyao City Wall

Zhangbi Ancient Castle
Meet your driver in your hotel lobby at 8:00.a.m and transfer about 1 hour to an ancient multi-functional castle--Zhangbi Ancient Castle, located southeast of Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province. It was built in 617 AD at an altitude of 1,040 meters (3,412 feet) above sea level.

Ancient City of Pingyao
Then drive back to Pingyao and visit Pingyao Ancient City, one of China's four best preserved old cities together with Lijiang Old Town, Huizhou Ancient City and Langzhong Ancient City.

City Wall of Pingyao
You can enjoy a local lunch in Pingyao Ancient City, then walk to the City Wall. On top of the City Wall, you can have a bird-eye view of the whole Ancient City. After that, transfer back to your hotel. If you live in Pingyao Ancient City, you can continue to spend your time there.

Day 6
Qiao's Family Compound, then drive back to Beijing.

Qiao's Family Compound (Qiao Jia Dayuan)
Your driver will pick you up in early morning and head to Qiao's Family Compound ( about 1 hour). It is the residential compound of well-known financier Qiao Zhiyong, who was the most famous member of the Qiao family.

Beijing
After lunch, drive back to your Beijing hotel or apartment. It takes about 8 hours. You can relax and rest in the car, enjoy your ride back.
