    Jal Mahal or the Water Palace is a treat to the eye in the night. Driving along the roadside of the lake is a splendid experience when the lights twinkling inside the palace are reflected on the shimmering water.

    Hawa Mahal or the “Place of Winds” was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. The Palace has 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. The Jharokha’s were designed to allow royal ladies to observe festivals on the streets without being seen. In Night The Hawa Mahal is closed but The Palace of winds with its 953 small windows offers ample opportunities to click excellent pictures of the gorgeous building from the outside.
