Taste your way through Florence on a private 2.5-hour Wine & Food Experience. This easygoing walking tour in the historic center is perfect if you want authentic flavors, great stories, and a little extra wine—without wasting time.
You’ll enjoy a mix of sweet bites, a lively market-style food experience with free choice, a premium snack moment, a quick wine tasting, and a gelato finale. Along the way, your guide keeps the pace smooth, shares local tips, and makes sure everything feels simple and fun.
We’ll meet in Piazza Madonna degli Aldobrandini, right by the San Lorenzo area. After a quick welcome, we’ll check any allergies or dietary restrictions and your wine preference (red or white). Then you’ll get a short introduction to San Lorenzo’s historic market district and Florence’s long merchant tradition.
Our first stop is a classic Florentine sweet bite: cantucci, the traditional almond biscuits. You’ll taste them with a quick guided explanation of what makes them “artisan” (texture, ingredients, baking style) and how locals typically pair them. If you’d like, you can also grab a small take-away bag.
Next, we’ll enjoy a chocolate tasting at Nino and Friends. You’ll try 1–2 samples each, mixing different styles and cocoa percentages. Your guide will share a quick insight into quality ingredients and how chocolate is crafted—simple, tasty, and fast-paced.
This is the heart of the experience: Mercato Centrale. Here you’ll have freedom to choose what you want to taste, with your guide giving you a short orientation first (where to go, how not to lose time, and an easy meeting point). You’ll get 2–3 “must-try” suggestions (think local cured meats, pecorino cheeses, schiacciata), then you’re free to explore. We recommend one glass of wine per person (red or white). Along the way you’ll hear a quick, useful intro to Italian market culture and the key differences in Tuscan specialties.
Time for a “wow” moment on elegant Via Tornabuoni: Procacci 1885. We’ll stop for their iconic truffle panini bites—a true Florentine luxury snack—plus a small bottle of water to stay fresh as we keep walking. Your guide will also point out why this street is Florence’s most refined shopping avenue and why truffle is considered a premium product.
A quick, scenic stop at a real wine window (buchetta del vino). Depending on the day’s offering, you’ll enjoy a small tasting or a glass. Your guide will explain the fascinating history of these tiny windows and how they were used in Florence centuries ago—one of the city’s most unique traditions.
We’ll end the experience with artisan gelato at Gelateria Nuvola—the perfect sweet finale after wine and bites. You’ll choose your flavors (we recommend max 2 per person to keep it quick and smooth), enjoy your gelato together, and wrap up with local tips and recommendations from your guide.
