Embark on a one-day trip through the heart of Beijing, exploring its most iconic historical and cultural sites.

The day begins with a visit to Tiananmen Square, one of the world's largest public squares.
Just a short walk from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City awaits. Entering through the Meridian Gate, you step into a world that seems to have been frozen in time. The Forbidden City is a vast complex of palaces and halls, built in the 14th century during the Ming Dynasty.
After having lunch near the Forbidden City, head to the Temple of Heaven. This ancient complex is a masterpiece of Chinese architecture and a symbol of the harmonious relationship between man and nature in Chinese traditional culture.
The last stop will head to the hutong tour. Hutongs are the narrow alleys that are characteristic of old Beijing. Take a walk through the hutongs, and you'll get a glimpse of the real-life of Beijing locals.

    Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

    08:00, pick you up from your hotel in city area (appointed areas) 08:30-11:00, visit Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square The Forbidden City, in the very heart of Beijing, was home to 24 emperors during the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing (1644–1911) dynasties. It is the largest and best preserved ancient imperial architectural complex in the world, featuring a great square, halls and gates, in contrast to intricate halls, gardens, courtyards and living quarters. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are important treasures of ancient China. You will be walking for about 2 hours (2 kilometers). The walks in the Forbidden City are graded moderate.

    Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

    Tiananmen Square (30 minutes): Tian'anmen Square is the largest city square in the centre of Beijing, named after the Tiananmen (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace) which sits to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history. As the world's largest city square and enduring symbol of China's national pride, it is surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum.

    Hutong Tour

    11:15-12:00, visit Hutong by rickshaw Hutong Tour in Xicheng District (45 minutes): Hutong is a maze of historic alleyways with old single storey traditional courtyard houses, which are now fast disappearing. In this one hour tour, you can hop on a rickshaw to ride through the narrow alleys as well as visit a local family then walk on the Silver Ingot Bridge (Yinding Bridge) and find out about the different thresholds of the courtyards. 12:00-13:30, lunch at local authentic restaurant Popular local restaurants: We will arrange for the lunch included in the package to be eaten at popular local restaurants. Your local tour guide will recommend specific restaurants based on your interests and itinerary. Some typical Beijing dishes include shredded pork in Beijing sauce , noodles with soybean paste, Mongolian hot pot, Beijing roast duck, donkey burger.

    Temple of Heaven

    14:00-15:30, visit Temple of Heaven Temple of Heaven (1.5 hours): Built in 1420 during the Ming dynasty, the Temple of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties visited for annual ceremonies to pray for good harvests. The park of the temple of Heaven is full of life. In the morning lots of local elderly people meet there to sing, exercise, and do tai chi. The park covers an area of 273 hectares in the south of Central Beijing. You will be walking for about 1-1½ hour (1½ kilometers) there. The walk is graded easy. 16:00, transfer you back to your hotel.
