Our Team members will be there at the airport arrival terminal holding traveller's name card.
The Langtang Valley Trek begins with a 7-hour drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, where you'll travel on the famous Prithvi Highway. Along the way, you'll pass through charming villages, terraced farms, lush green hillsides, and occasional mountains before reaching Galchi and Trishuli Bazaar. After a few hours, you'll arrive at Dhunche, which is the administrative headquarter of Rasuwa District. Syabrubesi is the gateway to most of the trekking destinations in the Langtang region, providing various facilities such as hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, ATMs, and shops. Take a stroll around the lively town of Syabrubesi to soak up the local atmosphere.
After having breakfast early in the morning, you will prepare your backpacks and start your trek. You will cross a small suspension bridge over Ying Yang Khola and leave the main road behind, following a narrow trekking trail. The trail will run alongside Langtang Khola and will have gradual switchbacks. Oak and rhododendron trees will surround the trail for most of the day. Be sure to pay attention to the trail as you may come across some exotic birds and langurs. You will pass through several small teahouse settlements such as Tiwari Gaon, Bamboo, and Rimche. The trail will become relatively steep and challenging after Rimche until you finally reach Lama Hotel.
The trail leads toward Langtang village, a rocky hillside with cascading waterfalls and occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung. You will follow the Langtang River uphill as you walk past the wide yak pastureland of Ghoda Tabela, where you can enjoy the magnificent Langtang Range and surrounding landscapes. With an enticing view of the Langtang range, you walk through a few villages and monasteries to arrive at the Tamang village of Langtang. Mundu is only a 30-minute walk away. The old houses in this area serve as a reminder of what all the villages in this valley used to look like. However, most of the lodges and homes in this region are now constructed in a more contemporary style.
To reach one of the trek's most significant monuments, you leave Mundu behind. As you make your way along the trail, you'll notice a gentle incline through the yak pastures. The valley begins to open up even more, offering splendid views that stretch out before you. On your way to Kyanjin Gompa, you will pass through a few villages, water mills, and chortens. For the locals of this area, Kyangin Gompa is a monastery of immense importance. As you travel, you will pass by several prayer flags, wheels, and little dwellings that people have built. There is a strong presence of Buddhist culture here. Upon arrival, you'll have plenty of time to relax in the afternoon or maybe even explore the area. We would recommend that only if you are willing to explore more, it might be worth checking out Langshisha Kharka up the Valley to take in some breathtaking views.
Today, you will take a hike up to Tserko Ri, which is the highest altitude of our trek. During this hike, you will pass through various pastures with Yaks. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a spectacular sunrise and a breathtaking view of the Langtang range. After spending some time there, you will hike back to Kyanjin and explore the village. While there, you have the opportunity to visit the local yak cheese factory and try some cheese, or even purchase it.
Starting from Kyanjin, retrace the same path you took up the valley, following the Langtang Khola until you reach Mundu village and then proceed to Ghoda Tabela. The descent will be quicker than the ascent. After lunch, continue your descent down to Lama Hotel.
Today, you will be retracing your path back to Syabrubesi. Your adventure will start with a steep descent to Rimche, followed by a gradual path leading to Syabrubesi. The trail is surrounded by oak and rhododendron trees, which offer splendid views of the Langtang Khola and exotic birds and animals. As you pass through villages, you will eventually arrive at the civilization of Syabrubesi. Before reaching the bazaar, you will cross a suspension bridge and connect to a motorway.
After breakfast, you will leave Sybrubensi behind and drive back to Kathmandu following the same route as before. During the drive, you can relish the scenic views of the countryside once again. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the house.
