EN pick-up is offered in Bayeux and its surroundings (2 km maximum).
Your Gentleman sider (Guide / Driver) will meet you with his retro sidecar at the pick-up place chosen by you, or in the parking lot of the Musée DE la Bataille DE Normandie DE Bayeux, or at the bus station of Bayeux. He has DE you to equip DE helmets, DE gloves and retro glasses, to finally settle down. There will of course be stops along the way to take breaks and take pictures.
US SECTOR OPTION *This step may be excluded if your Guide feels there is insufficient DE time left.* On 8 June 1944, Port-EN-Bessin DE was liberated by 47e Royal Marines Commando during Operation Overlord. On 16 June, Port-EN-Bessin DE became the network leader of a 120 km EN viron pipeline system designed to supply the Allied armies with fuel. At the end of August 1944, this system was completed by Operation PLUTO, which saw the laying of pipelines between Isle DE Wight and Querqueville near DE Cherbourg.

You will stand here on the same sands where DE thousands of American soldiers bravely landed in the midst of intense gunfire and an artillery barrage. Your Guide will tell you moving DE about the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. EN route to the beach, take a moment to pay tribute to the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice DE those who fought here.
US SECTOR OPTION The American Cemetery and Memorial DE Normandy, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. EN strolling among the rows DE white marble crosses and DE David stars, you will be imbued with a deep sense DE gratitu DE and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your Guide will share DE stories of the individuals resting here and will offer illuminating perspectives on the significant impact of their sacrifices on the course of history. *EN low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour Newbie at 4pm will make visiting the cemetery impossible.* *Please note that from the year DE 2026, visit to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed.*
SECTOR OPTION ENGLISH Your pilot will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. It was on this beach that, during the Battle DE Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6, 1944, the Allies established Mulberry Port B, a temporary artificial port to allow the landing DE heavy equipment, without waiting for the conquest DE ports EN eaux deep DE, such as those of Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-EN-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in DE center DE the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the brunt of the fighting on D-Day. In order to allow the installation of a harbour and its smooth operation as quickly as possible, the beach should not be degraded and the nearby communication routes should not be preserved. English troops landed further east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of 6 June. The port was therefore commissioned EN 14 June.
SECTOR OPTION ENGLISH The battery DE Longues-sur-Mer is one of the batteries DE Mur DE l'Atlantique, located in the coastal municipality of Longues-sur-Mer in the Calvados. The site consisted of 4 DE marine guns DE 150 mm DE long range, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate EN, and various facilities to serve and defend them. The battery was located in the Normandy Allied EN landing zone between Omaha Beach and DE Gold Beach and was subjected to heavy air and naval bombardment EN preventing it from taking full action on D-Day. Classified as a Historic Monument, it is in a good state DE conservation. The site is developed and has DE become a frequented transit point during visits to landing sites.
