The Cathedral of Granada, known as Holy Church Metropolitan Cathedral of the Incarnation, is an impressive Renaissance work of the 16th century located in the historic center of the city. Its 18th-century Baroque facade contrasts with the bright Renaissance interior of wide naves supported by Corinthian columns. During the visit you can admire the spectacular Chapel Major with its baroque altarpiece, the side chapels with valuable works of art, the historic organ and the frescoes that decorate vaults and walls. The cathedral offers an enriching cultural experience that perfectly complements other emblematic monuments of Granada such as the Alhambra.
The Royal Chapel of Granada is an extraordinary Gothic-Elizabethian burial complex built between 1505 and 1517 by order of the Catholic Monarchs as their definitive burial place. Annexed to the Cathedral, it houses the marble tombs of Isabella the Catholic and Ferdinand the Catholic, as well as those of Joan the Mad and Philip the Beautiful, becoming the most important royal pantheon in Spain. During the visit you can admire the crypt where the royal remains rest, the impressive main altarpiece of Felipe Vigarny, the sacristy-museum that preserves the crown, the scepter and the personal missal of Isabella the Catholic, as well as a valuable collection of Flemish and Italian paintings that includes works by Botticelli, Van der Weyden and Memling. The Chapel Royal offers a unique tour of the history of Spain at the time of its unification and the discovery of America, bearing witness to the power and devotion of the monarchs who marked a decisive time in Spanish history.
The Alhambra and Generalife represent the highest expression of Nasrid art in the West, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This magnificent 13th-century Palatine complex is divided into three areas: the Alcazaba or fortress, the Nasrid Palaces with their famous Lions and Arrayan courtyards, and the Generalife with its lush gardens. During the visit you can admire the refined decoration of plasterwork, the intricate moccarats, the delicate marble columns and the games of water and light that create a unique atmosphere. The Generalife gardens, with their fountains and Mediterranean vegetation, complement the architectural magnificence of the palaces, turning the experience into an unforgettable sensory journey through eight centuries of Islamic history and art.
