We pick up all travelers from the airport in Beijing.
Upon your arrival, you will meet your tour guide and driver outside the baggage claim area at the airport. After a short greeting, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can take a good rest at your hotel, relieving fatigue from the long-time flight journey.
In the morning, you tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel. Then, come to Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. It is also a place to honor the birth of new China and those people who had great contributions to this republic country. If you have more interest to this scenic spot, you can get a further introduction from your knowledgeable guide.
Walk to the northernmost part of the square, and you will see the Forbidden City. Used to be a palace for 24 emperors, it has immense scale and distinctive building characteristics. Getting the knowledge from your guide about the long history of this best preserved imperial palace, you will have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
The afternoon sightseeing will take you to the Yonghe Temple first. It was once the mansion of a prince during the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911 AD) but later it became the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Beijing.
Then turn to the Temple of Heaven. It was a place for emperors to hold a royal worship ceremony in the past. This place has close contact with the ancient Chinese culture, history and religion even the music. It also reveals the Ancient people’s reverence for imperial power and the strict feudal hierarchical system. After that, you will be escorted to your hotel.
In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel and leave for the Mutianyu Great Wall with the company of your guide and driver. A round-trip cable car is included so that you can save more time on the Wall. Standing on the wall and looking at it stretching up and down into boundless distance is an exciting experience and will leave you a life-long memory.
After your visit to the Mutianyu Great Wall, you will be escorted back to your hotel. On the way, you will have a chance to appreciate the buildings of National Stadium - Bird's Nest (Niao Chao) from a distance.
Then we will go to experience Beijing's old customs and authentic cultures at Hutongs, a particular expression in Beijing meaning old alleys or lanes. Visiting by a traditional rickshaw, you will have a chance to dive deep into local people’s daily life. A special home visit to a local family will add more fun to your Beijing trip.
This morning, you will have a visit to the Summer Palace.It used to be a royal garden as well as a summer resort. You can appreciate the typical Chinese classical buildings connected by zigzagging corridors and bridges distributing among the hills and lakes harmoniously.
Then you will take a high-speed train to Xi'an. Your guide will meet you at the exit of Xi'an railway station and then transfer you to the hotel.
The visit to the magnificent Terracotta Army will start your day's trip. In the museum, there are altogether three excavated pits exhibiting amazing warrior figures, horses, chariots and Chinese ancient weapons.
Then you will be guided to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, built during 707 – 710 AD in the Tang Dynasty. Besides admiring the old 13-floor pagoda and enjoying a serene time here, your guide will also show you around Xi’an Museum inside with rich collections.
Continue your tour to the City Wall. You will have a panoramic view of the old city area when you are standing on the wall. Meanwhile, you may see the local people doing recreational activities at the City Wall Park. If you want to enjoy riding on the wall, you can rent a bike but the rental fee is at your own expense. Afterwards, you will be escorted back to the hotel.
In the morning, you will visit the oldest also the largest Muslim mosque in Xi’an, the Great Mosque. After the visit, you will have a chance to linger over the nearby Muslim Quarter. Inhabited by a large Muslim population, the quarter offers the most bustling local Muslim market with tasty street food. You can taste some delicious local snacks and experience a very local vibe here.
After that, we will drive to the Han Yang Ling Museum, a mausoleum of Emperor Jingdi (188 – 141 BC) and his empress in the Han Dynasty. It offers a quiet place for you to explore ancient history at a short range by walking over the pit areas on the glass to look down directly at the relics in the pit. Your tour comes to an end here and your guide will see you off at the airport.
