Your local tour guide will greet you at Beijing Airport after reclaiming your luggage and clearing customs. Your driver will take you in a comfortable vehicle to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you.
Your tour guide will pick up you at the hotel in the morning and take you to visit the Tiananmen Square. You will see what the biggest urban city square in the world looks like.
After visiting the Tiananmen Square, you will continue visit the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City. Here, you will not only learn how the emperor handled political affairs and lived their lives, but appreciate numerous ancient art treasures. At noon, an a la carte welcome lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be served at a superb local restaurant, where you can have a taste of authentic Chinese food and the most famous Peking Roast Duck.
Then we will head for the Temple of Heaven. This was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to Heaven in order to pray for bumper harvests. Its architecture, with round roofs symbolizing Heaven and square walls Earth, exudes a divine majesty you would hardly find anywhere else in the world.
Tonight, we will arrange for you to enjoy the wonderful acrobatic show in the Red Theater.
Drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall to experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. The round-trip cable car will be arranged. Standing on the wall and looking at it stretching up and down into boundless distance is an exciting experience and will leave you a life-long memory. To celebrate and commemorate this moment, we specially provide red wine for a group-toasting on the Great Wall.
In the afternoon, on the way back you will have a photo stop at the Olympic National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest. See its appearance from a distance.
Afterwards, you will take a rickshaw tour to explore the original Hutong alleys and have a chance to visit a local family.
After seeing giant pandas in the morning, you will visit the Summer Palace - the largest existing imperial garden with a graceful landscape and magnificent constructions.
After that, transfer you to the airport and you will fly to Xi'an. Upon your arrival, your local guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel downtown. Attention: For 2026 & 2027 tours, we will arrange the high-speed train from Beijing to Xian instead of flight. The duration is around 4.5 to 5.5 hours. It is a good opportunity to experience China's fast-growing high-speed rail.
The visit to the Terracotta Army will begin your day's journey. In the museum, there are three excavated pits displaying amazing warrior figures and Chinese ancient weapons. Afterwards, take a family visit to the home of the first discoverer of the Terracotta Army. And then make a mini clay warrior by yourself with the help of a local artisan.
In the afternoon, you will the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) to store the Buddhist scriptures brought from ancient India.
A splendid evening is in store when you will be entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show while partaking in the famous Dumpling Dinner. Since the theater is not open in January, February, March, and December, the tour prices do not include the show and dumpling dinner for tours that start during those months.
The day begins with a leisure visit to the City Wall Park, where you can observe the day-to-day life of the locals. You may also practice Tai Chi with the master. Tai Chi, a soft form of Chinese martial arts, is considered the quintessential Chinese culture. After that, you will pay a visit to the City Wall. It is the most complete existing urban fortification in China. Cycling on the ancient wall is an exciting experience that many people like to try (bike rental fee is not included).
The Great Mosque in Xi'an is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China.
Then you will have a special lunch at the lively Muslim Quarter and try some local food.
Finally, visit the visit the Great Mosque and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda which also houses Xian Museum.
This morning, you will take a flight to Guilin and your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel for check in.
Your Guilin sightseeing starts with the famous Reed Flute Cave, which is a 240 meter karst cave that has various shapes of stalactites and stalagmites.
Then you will head to the Elephant Trunk Hill. The shape of the hill is just like a giant elephant boozing water from the river with its long trunk, hence got the name. After that, you will be transfered back to the hotel.
Take a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. Li River is the essence of landscape in this area, especially the section from Guilin to Yangshuo, which is reputed as 'A Hundred Miles Gallery'. The cruise ship will arrive at Yangshuo in about 4.5 hours.
After docking at Yangshuo, you will walk through the well-known West Street. Then you will enjoy the amazing rural scenery as we drive along the surrounding country roads of Yangshuo. En route, you will be invited to visit a villager's home. After that, transfer you back to Guilin.
We will transfer you to the train station for the morning high speed train to Chengdu. In about 5 to 6 hours, our Chengdu guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to the hotel. If time permits, we will escort you to the most popular Renmin Park to experience the casual life of the local people. Have a pot of tea and enjoy like a local.
An exciting day comes as you visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. You will have enough time there to observe the cute creatures.
Then explore the Broad and Narrow Alleys, where you may have your own lunch to taste the yummy Sichuan food.
In the afternoon, board a high speed train to Chongqing. Upon arrival, our guide in Chongqing will meet and take you to check in at the 5-star Yangtze cruise ship. Have a buffet dinner on board. And you will be invited to attend the Welcome Party hosted by the Captain.
After breakfast, disembark for an excursion to the Fengdu Ghost City. Afternoon is free time for you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Yangtze River on deck. Attend some cultural programs onboard if you like.
The most essential part of your Yangtze River cruise tour comes today as the ship sails through the Three Gorges: Qutang, Wu and Xiling gorges. Experience an exciting onshore excursion to Shennv Stream.
Disembark for an excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. Before that, please pack your luggage and complete check-out procedures.
After the excursion, the cruise company will drive you to the Three Gorges Tourist Center in Yichang. Our local guide will meet you there and escort you to the railway station for a high speed train to Shanghai. Be met and driven to the hotel on arrival. Tip: There are two flights each day from Yichang to Shanghai: one in the morning and another one very late in the evening. If catching morning flight, you will miss the Three Gorges Dam; if catching late evening flight, you arrive at the hotel in Shanghai around 1:30am, which will influence your Shanghai tour the next day. Train is a long journey, but seems a better choice.
This morning, you will visit one of the four largest museums in China, Shanghai Museum, which specializes in exhibiting art works from ancient times.
After that, explore Yu Garden and its nearby traditional bazaar. The symbol of the Garden is the Nine Zigzag Bridge built of granite and grass-white jade and the quaint, elegant mid-lake pavilion. Around noon, an a la carte farewell lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be served to you at a very nice restaurant.
After that, stroll along the thriving Bund area and then take a one-hour cruise tour on the Huangpu River.
Today you will travel to the airport for your departing flight by yourself. Due to different flight schedules, the hotel-airport transfer service is not included. But we are glad to assist if you need. We wish you a nice journey home and memories to last a lifetime.
