Your guide and the driver will pick up you at the Beijing airport.
Your local tour guide will meet you at Beijing Airport after reclaiming your luggage and clearing customs. The driver will transport you in a comfortable vehicle to the hotel and help you with the check-in procedure. The rest of the day is left for you to have a good rest or to become familiar with our capital city on your own.
This morning, your tour guide will pick up you at the hotel and take you to visit Tiananmen Square. You will see what the biggest urban city square in the world looks like.
From Tiananmen Square, you will enter the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City to explore its fascinating halls and pavilions. Here, you will not only learn how the emperor handled political affairs and lived their lives, but appreciate numerous ancient art treasures. At noon, an a la carte welcome lunch (valued at CNY 150 per person and included in our price) will be served at a superb local restaurant, where you can have a taste of authentic Chinese food.
In the afternoon, visit the Yonghe Temple, a solemn imperial lamasery that has survived over 300 years intact and features a blend of Han, Mongolian, and Tibetan architecture.
At last, you will see the Temple of Heaven, with its unique architecture, where the emperors worshipped the heavens in hopes of good harvests.
This morning you will be taken to Mutianyu Great Wall to experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. The round-trip cable car will be arranged. Standing on the wall and looking at it stretching up and down into boundless distance is an exciting experience and will leave you a life-long memory.
On driving back to the downtown area, you will take a look at the Bird's Nest, used for the 2008 Olympic Games and take some pictures.
Afterwards, you will take a rickshaw tour to explore the original Hutong alleys and have a chance to visit a local family.
The first stop of today's itinerary is the Summer Palace - the largest existing imperial garden with a graceful landscape and magnificent constructions.
After that, transfer you to the railway station and you will take a high-speed train to Xi'an. Upon your arrival, your local guide will meet you and escort you to the hotel.
The visit to the magnificent Terracotta Army will start your day's trip. In the museum, there are altogether three excavated pits exhibiting amazing warrior figures and Chinese ancient weapons. Afterwards, take a family visit to the home of the first discoverer of the Terracotta Army. And then make a mini clay warrior by yourself with the help of a local artisan.
Transfer you back to downtown and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the representative Buddhist building of 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty. Lunch is on your own.
Next, have some free time at the nearby Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-Bright City, a cult pedestrian street for locals and tourists alike to encounter cultural phenomena, like the spectacle of passers-by dressed in traditional Chinese clothes.
The day begins with a leisure visit to the City Wall Park, where you can observe the day-to-day life of the locals. You may also practice Tai Chi with the master. Tai Chi, a soft form of Chinese martial arts, is considered the quintessential Chinese culture. After that, you will pay a visit to the City Wall. It is the most complete existing urban fortification in China. Cycling on the ancient wall is an exciting experience that many people like to try (bike rental fee is not included).
Next head to the Great Mosque, located in the bustling Muslim Quarter. It features a perfect blend of Chinese traditional architectural and typical Islamic architectural styles. Here you can not only appreciate the stunning buildings but also taste local snacks in the nearby popular alleys.
On the way to the airport, you will stop at the Hanyangling Museum, which is an on-site museum integrating modern technology with ancient civilization, history, culture and landscape.
After that, you will take a flight to Guilin. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and then accompany you to the downtown hotel.
Take a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. Li River is the essence of the landscape in this area, especially the section from Guilin to Yangshuo, which is reputed as 'A Hundred Miles Gallery'. The cruise ship will arrive at Yangshuo in about 4.5 hours.
After docking at Yangshuo, you will check in at the hotel. After a short break, you will have a chance to take in the beautiful countryside scenery. Two hours or more will be left for your countryside exploration by bike. However, if you feel tired, your driver would like to drive you around for any photo stop you like.
The whole day is free for you to walk or cycle in Yangshuo.
Transfer back to Guilin. Take a bullet train for around 5 hours to Chongqing. Upon arrival, your guide will pick you up at the railway station and transfer you to board the cruise ship. As the cruise ship departs from Chongqing at about 21:30, your relaxing Yangtze River cruise begins.
This morning, you will have a Safety, Orientation & River Briefing. You will learn the geography & river lore of China. After lunch, disembark for an excursion to the Shuangguishan National Forest Park. Around 18:00 Captain's Welcome Party presents Chinese folk dancing and music performance. You can also join in the fun.
Today is the highlight of your Yangtze River Cruise tour as you will pass the three grandiose gorges, the Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge in the morning, the Xiling Gorge in the late evening. You will board an Eco-friendly ferry sailing into the remote section of the Three Little Gorges, Shennong Stream or Shennv Stream. After three to four hours' adventure, you will be back onto the cruise ship.
After breakfast, you will disembark for an excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. Before that, you should pack your luggage and complete check-out procedures. After finishing the excursion, the cruise ship company will drive you to the Three Gorges Tourist Center in Yichang city. Your local guide will meet you there and then see you off at Yichang East Railway Station for a bullet train to Suzhou.
The train journey takes around 6 hours. When you arrive, your Suzhou guide and driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to the hotel.
Today you will visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, also one of the four most famous gardens in China.
Next is the Suzhou Museum, a treasure house which also deserves your exploration.
Next drive you for one hour to the Tongli Water Town, an over-1000-year-old ancient town with many folk houses and buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasties. After the visit, we will drive you back to your hotel in Shanghai.
After the visit, drive you to Shanghai in a comfortable private car and check in to the hotel.
This morning, Your local tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. You will visit one of the four largest museums in China, the Shanghai Museum, which specializes in exhibiting artworks from ancient times.
After that, explore Yu Garden and its nearby traditional bazaar. The symbol of the Garden is the Nine Zigzag Bridge built of granite and grass-white jade and the quaint, elegant mid-lake pavilion. Around noon, an a la carte farewell lunch (valued at CNY 150 per person and included in our price) will be served to you at a very nice restaurant.
Take a one-hour cruise along the Huangpu River - the mother river of Shanghai. As the symbol and a microcosm of the city, the river has witnessed the glory, humiliation, despair, and prosperity of Shanghai.
Enjoy some free time on the Bund.
This day will conclude at Tianzifang, a cultural street with artsy stores, bars and restaurants.
