Welcome to La Paz to enjoy the 9 days Bolivia salt flats tour! Our professional guide along with a driver will wait for you at the airport. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to check-in a comfortable hotel immediately. The afternoon will be free for you. As La Paz is located at an elevation of about 3,650 meters (11,975 ft.) above sea level, it is suggested that you get some rest at the hotel to ease altitude sickness.
In the morning, the guide and the driver will pick you up from hotel to start the La Paz city tour. We will first drive to the Colonial section which is only 2.5km (1.6 mi) away from your hotel. The most striking architectures here are National Congress, and Basilica de San Francisco, a church blending Spanish baroque and native art.
Then head to Mirador Killi Killi to overlook the whole city. Bolivia is the only country on the planet to use the cable car as a major transport mean. You cannot miss experiencing the unique cable car. Our guide will lead you to take the cable car and view the city from another perspective.
Later, continue the tour to the Moon Valley where will marvel at the moonscape-like stone forms.
After that, we will stroll in Witches' Market and return to the hotel.
After breakfast, the guide and the driver will send you to the Copacabana town on the shore of Lake Titicaca. It takes about 3.5 hours on the way.
After getting to the town, we will take a boat to the Isla del Sol. Enjoy a special local lunch after going ashore and then you will be guided to visit Pilkokaina Temple, an Inca ruin complex said to have been constructed by the Incan emperor, Tupacinca Yupanqui. We will also climb the Escalera del Inca steps, where we will see the spring of "Eternal youth", said to be where Incas performed baptisms. After that, you will be escorted to check-in at the hotel on the island.
After breakfast, we will go back to Copacabana by boat and go sightseeing at Basilica of Our Lady, a Spanish shrine in the 16th century containing the portrayal of Virgen de Copacabana. After lunch, we will drive back to La Paz.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to La Paz airport for a flight to Uyuni. After 50-minutes flying, you will meet our local guide and a driver at Uyuni airport, who will later accompany you to start Uyuni salt flats tour.
The first stop will be Colchani Village. Starting here, we will access Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat and the highlight of your Bolivia salt flats tour. In the village, you can see some artifacts made of salt and textiles made from camel and alpaca wools. Here we will also visit an old salt hotel.
The next stops is Salt Museum.
Then, pay a visit to Isla Incahuasi in the central salt flats. Isla Incahuasi features a group of huge cactus. After the visit, we will drive 1h 45min to check-in at the hotel.
This morning, we will drive to the southern area of Salar del Uyuni, also the border between Bolivia and Chile. We will pass by Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, and Honda lagoons. And finally arrive at the Siloli Desert to view various rock formations. At last, you will be guided to the Red Lagoon (Laguna Colorada).
In the early morning about 5 am or depending on seasons, we will drive to Sol de Mañana Geyser with pre-packed breakfast. It is 150 km far and takes 2-2.5 hours by car. Sol de Mañana Geyser is the highest point of the tour at an elevation of about 5,000 meters (16,404 ft.), also one of the most beautiful geyser areas you can see on the planet. It will be a little cold at such a high level but it will be worth when you see the geysers, mud lakes and steam pools with bubbling mud. You will also enjoy bathing in the sulphur springs.
Next, we will drive to Salvador Dali Desert in 50 minutes, and visit the Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon) at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano.
When the visit is over, we will drive back to the hotel in Uyuni for 6 hours. Along the 350 km (217 mi) distance, we will visit the Valley of the Rocks.
Today you will be transferred to the airport by the driver and then take a flight to La Paz.
After arrival, a local guide and a driver will be waiting for you and then drive 1.5 hours to Tiwanaku Ruins, the world's largest city ruins of the pre-Columbian civilization, full of carved monoliths, archways and arcades, along with two museums telling the history. After that, you will be sent to the hotel.
