We will pick you up at the Siem Reap airport and see you off at the Phnom Penh airport.
Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport, your guide will be waiting for you at the exit holding a welcome board with your name on it. You will be driven to your hotel and you may rest for the remainder of the day.
If time allows today, you will be escorted to visit the Angkor National Museum, which is an archaeological museum to help you better understand the Khmer history, culture and art.
Your guide and driver will usher you to the Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire, which is surrounded by a moat and includs numerous beautiful Khmer temples covered with intricate carvings.
Bayon Temple, a landmark of Angkor Ruins, is well-known for its mysterious smiling faces, which were carved on four sides of the Buddhist towers. Then, you will also visit the nearby Baphuon Temple and the Terrace.
In the afternoon, head to visit the Ta Prohm Temple, the shooting site of the movie Tomb Raider. This distinctive temple standing among the towering green trees brims with the breath of life.
Afterwards, come to the Angkor Wat, the best-preserved temple in Angkor complex. This typical Khmer building is known for its exquisite bas-reliefs and the Indian mythology is expressed vividly and fully here.
Weather permitting, you will be taken to admire the amazing sunset on the Bakheng Hill. The Bakheng Temple, standing on top of the mountain, is a typical Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. You may enjoy a full view of the golden Angkor Ruins under sunset.
At the end, drive you to enjoy a traditional performance, Apsara Dance Show with buffet dinner. After the show, transfer you back to the hotel.
Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat is a must-do experience while in Siem Reap. You need to get up earlier this morning, and your guide will take you to the best place to get quintessential shots of Angkor Wat at sunrise. Afterwards, you will be driven back to the hotel for breakfast.
The next stop is the 10th-century Banteay Srei Temple, an elegant Hindu temple featuring delicate carvings and sculptures portraying the vivid figures of deities. En route, you will stop to visit a local village to get a glimpse of a different lifestyle.
After that, head to visit a less crowded Khmer Temple of Beng Mealea, a hidden treasure of Angkor, which is swallowed by jungle.
Late in the afternoon, drive you to the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, where you will take a boat trip to explore the floating village of Kampong Phluk. People have lived here for generations, so it could be quite a special experience to see their floating houses, churches and schools, as well as to witness their real life on the lake. In addition, you could also enjoy the breathtaking sunset view over the lake.
This morning, you will have a chance to participate in a cooking class to discover the secrets of authentic Khmer cuisines at a local home, which is also a good opportunity for you to interact with the locals and get close to their life.
In the afternoon, you will be transfered to the airport to catch the flight to the capital city of Phnom Penh. One hour later, your guide and driver in Phnom Penh will greet you in the Arrival Hall and take you to check into the hotel in the downtown area.
After breakfast, your guided Phnom Penh sightseeing will start at the Royal Palace, an iconic attraction in this city. It has been the royal residence featuring glorious structures and classic Khmer artistic decorations. Besides the splendor, you will also explore the history of this city by visiting the historic buildings here.
Afterward, you will proceed to the National Museum, where you can learn about the history, archaeology, and art of this country. The 15,000 collections here will tell the visitors the colorful culture and history of Khmer. In the meantime, the building itself is very beautiful and exquisite to see.
In the afternoon, you will be guided to visit two historic sites to know about the history of this country, from a tragic period. Firstly, you will head to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, where you will learn about the atrocities of Pol Pot. ★ Special Arrangement: Meet and Talk with a Survivor (Upon Available, 1 Hour Talk). When visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, we can arrange for you to meet a survivor inside the compound if you wish.
Then you will continue to the Killing Field of Choeung EK to get to know about Cambodia’s history ruled by a brutal regime, the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979.
