Visit the best cities in Laos that you should not miss - the capital city Vientiane and the charming town Luang Prabang. It combines both the culture of the most splendid and classical Buddhist temples as well as the relaxing and enjoyable natural beauty experience of the Mekong River and Kuang Si Waterfall. The visits to local villages such as Ban Xang Khong and Black Hmong Ethnic Village also provide you an opportunity to get close to the traditional crafts and lifestyle.
We will pick you up at the airport in Vientiane and see you off at the airport in Luang Prabang.
Upon landing at Vientiane Wattay International Airport, you will meet your guide and driver outside the customs. After a warm greeting, you will be transferred to the well selected hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore the city or rest at the hotel.
This morning we will head to visit Wat Si Saket, which is a well preserved Thai-style temple built in 1818.
Opposite it is Wat Ho Phra Keo, once home to the Emerald Buddha which is now enshrined in Bangkok. Wandering around the temple, you will surely get stunned by the luxury buildings and exquisite bronze Buddha statues.
Then we will head to Pha That Luang Temple, which is famous for a glittering golden stupa with a height of 150 feet. Afterwards, you will be escorted to visit the nearby sleeping Buddha.
Then the next spot will be Patuxai Victory Monument, which was built in memory of the abolition of the monarchy in 1975. After finishing the visit, the remainder of the day will be up to you.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to the train station to take a high speed train to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, your Luang Prabang local guide and driver will meet you and escort you to check into the hotel. After a short rest, we will head to visit the over 100-year-old Royal Palace Museum.
Afterwards, you will be led to Wat Xieng Thong, where you will see a well-known gorgeous mosaic - Tree of Life on the outside wall of the temple.
After that, we will continue to Wat Visoun, which is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang with a history of over 500 years.
The next stop is Wat Aham near the Wat Visoun. It is a small but delicate temple with a red façade carved with golden patterns. Inside the temple, you will see many beautiful frescos portraying Buddhist percepts.
Then you will visit Wat Mai, another Luang Prabang-style temple, which was built in the 19th-century. The artistically carved pillars, golden reliefs, and the whole Ramayana the Epic will end your day tour in a peaceful ambiance.
After visiting these sacred Buddhist temples, you will be guided up Mount Phousi, where you will have a panoramic view of the Old Town of Luang Prabang and appreciate the fantastic sunset scene if weather permits. At the end of today's journey, your guide will take you to experience the local night market, where you can get a close contact with Laotian customs and taste fresh tropical fruits. Afterwards, returning back to the hotel.
The first activity this morning will be watching the famed Alms Giving Ceremony. Local people usually kneel down along the street with food respectfully at around 6:00 and wait for the monks to take the offerings. It is a daily activity and gradually becomes a unique scene of Luang Prabang. After that, we will return to the hotel to have breakfast and then head to visit the Morning Market.
Getting out of the market, you will be transferred to Pak Ou Caves by boat to admire over 8,000 Buddha statues in various forms.
En route, we will stop at Ban Xang Hai Village to go sightseeing and enjoy the local rice wine. After visiting the Pak Ou Cave, your guide will escort you back to the hotel. On the way, we will also have a stop at Ban Xang Khong Village, and you can have a chance to learn the making process of the Saa Jute Paper.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to Kuang Si Falls, one highlight of your Luang Prabang tour package. Kuang Si Falls consist of several small waterfalls which look like a white stairway leading to the top of a green mountains. Then you will be escorted to the Black Hmong Ethnic Village to admire the distinctive ethnic culture and exotic buildings.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to the hotel in Luang Prabang. For the rest of the day, you will be free to explore this charming town on your own.
