Begin with a 1.5-hour private drive from Rishikesh to the trek starting point near Kaudiyala village. Walk with guide along an ancient trail once used by pilgrims and sadhus traveling to Badrinath and Kedarnath.
The Kotli Bhel Trek follows historic forest paths along the Ganges River, offering views of lush forests, deep valleys, and traditional Himalayan landscapes.
Hike around 7 km downhill, passing a scenic waterfall, crossing a hanging suspension bridge, and following a narrow trail that runs beside the Ganges. Walk along the quiet riverbank, surrounded by nature and flowing waters.
Visit a Shiva Temple near Mohan Chatti and interact with the resident sadhu, adding a spiritual element to the trek. Cross the suspension bridge again before returning along the trail.
On the way back to Rishikesh, stop at Vashishta Gufa, an ancient meditation cave where Sage Vashishta is believed to have meditated. Spend time in silence by the Ganga before returning.
