Begin with a comfortable hotel pickup in Rishikesh and drive through scenic Himalayan roads to Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi River and Alaknanda River merge to form the sacred Ganges River.
First, visit Vashishta Gufa, an ancient meditation cave on the Ganges, ideal for quiet reflection (closed 12 PM–3 PM).
Continue to Devprayag. From the roadside, walk 20 minutes downhill, cross a suspension bridge over the Bhagirathi, stroll through the local market, and climb 10 minutes to Raghunath Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama (also closed 12 PM–3 PM).
Then witness the sacred Sangam before returning to Rishikesh with a scenic stop at Teen Dhara View Point.

Vashishta Gufa, also known as Vashistha Cave, is a sacred and ancient cave located about 25 km from Rishikesh, India, on the banks of the holy River Ganges along the Rishikesh-Badrinath road. It is believed to be the meditation spot of Sage Vashishta, one of the seven great sages (Saptarishis) in Hindu mythology, who meditated here for many years. The cave is known for its serene and spiritually charged atmosphere, attracting meditation enthusiasts and spiritual seekers. It features a Shiv Linga inside and is surrounded by natural beauty including gular trees and the flowing Ganges.

The Raghunath Temple in Devprayag, India, is an ancient and revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama, an avatar of Vishnu worshipped here as Raghunathji. Situated at the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, which form the Ganges, the temple holds immense religious importance. Historically, it was established or rebuilt by the philosopher Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century and later expanded by the Garhwal kings. The temple is constructed in the traditional Deula architectural style and houses a granite image of Lord Rama. It also includes smaller shrines dedicated to other deities like Badrinath, Adi Shankara, Shiva, Sita, and Hanuman.

Devprayag Sangam in Devprayag, India, is a profoundly sacred site where the two holy rivers, Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, merge to form the Ganges, one of the most revered rivers in Hinduism. The confluence is considered the official starting point of the Ganga and holds immense religious and mythological significance. According to Hindu mythology, King Bhagirath performed intense penance to bring the heavenly Ganges to Earth to purify the ashes of his ancestors. The Bhagirathi River is regarded as the celestial descent of the Ganga, while the Alaknanda, originating near Badrinath, symbolizes devotion and penance. Their merging at Devprayag symbolizes the union of the divine and earthly waters, creating a holy river essential for purification and spiritual redemption. The name "Devprayag" means "Godly Confluence," reflecting its sacred status.
