Most Phi Phi trips are rushed day visits that end just as the island turns magical. This one stays. You cross from Phuket on a four-deck ferry, then board a longtail boat and chase the legends of the archipelago: Maya Bay, the cove made famous by the film The Beach, turquoise Loh Samah Bay, hidden Pileh Lagoon and Monkey Beach, with time to snorkel in clear water. After dark the beach lights up with a fire show and a beach party, and you sleep on Phi Phi Don in a 3-star hotel, so nobody is hurrying you back to the ferry. In the morning you can climb to the viewpoint for a sweeping view over the twin bays, then sail home. Meals, an English-speaking guide and all park fees are included.
Pickup from your Phuket hotel is between 07:00 and 07:30. Your driver will confirm the exact time the evening before. Please wait in the hotel lobby 10 minutes early and check that your hotel name and phone number are correct when booking. After the ferry, you are taken back to the same hotel.
Meet your English-speaking guide at the pier after hotel pickup and board the four-deck ferry to Phi Phi Don. The crossing takes about two hours.
The ferry glides into Phi Phi Don, and cliffs rise behind the pier as you step ashore. Check in at your hotel, drop your bags and cool off by the pool. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant on the island, then wander the shore, swim or browse the small shops while you wait for your afternoon boat trip.
At three o’clock a traditional longtail boat takes you away from the pier and out among the islands. The first stop is Maya Bay, the cove made famous by the film The Beach. Tall cliffs wrap around the bay, and it is easy to see why filmmakers chose it. Stops may change slightly with weather and tides.
Next the boat turns into Loh Samah Bay, a sheltered cove tucked between the cliffs. This is your time in the water: slip in for a swim, snorkel over the reef and enjoy the view of the cliffs from below. Climb back aboard when your guide calls the group.
Then comes Pileh Lagoon. The longtail glides into a bay ringed by steep cliffs, and the world outside suddenly feels far away. The cliffs shelter the water inside, which glows green-blue. Take your time, look up and let the moment settle in.
The last stop is Monkey Beach, where you can take in the sand and the view across the water. As the afternoon fades, the longtail turns back toward Phi Phi Don in the evening light.
After dinner at a restaurant on the island, Phi Phi Don changes character. Music rolls out across the beach, fire dancers spin flames into the dark and the beach party begins. This is the evening that only overnight guests get.
After breakfast at your hotel, climb with your guide to the Phi Phi Don viewpoint. From the top you look down on the two bays curving on either side of the island. This stop is optional.
Check out of your hotel at 11:00 and enjoy the last hours on Phi Phi. Walk along the shore, take a final swim or look for souvenirs in the small shops. Take your time, the ferry does not leave until 14:30.
At 14:30 the ferry pulls away from Phi Phi Don and carries you back across the Andaman Sea. Find a spot on deck for one last look at the cliffs. You arrive at Rassada Pier at about 16:00, where your driver takes you back to your hotel in Phuket.
