Before the sun is fully up, your longtail boat leaves the pier and heads into the bay. Limestone giants rise from the water around you. Nobody knows yet what the morning will hide.

Then Hong Island opens its secret. You slip into a canoe and paddle into lagoons, caves and grottoes where the silence is almost magical. What lies around the next bend? Only your paddle can tell.

Beyond the cliffs waits the legend itself: James Bond Island, the 007 rock that rises straight out of the sea. Your camera will not believe it. Lunch follows in Koh Panyi, a village built on stilts above the waves.

But the best chapter is still to come. At Mantra Forest Spa you sink into thermal and sea-water pools, plunge into the ice pool and soak in herbal baths with turmeric and lemongrass. A lake of giant water lilies waits at the end.

    Visit Hong Island, one of the most scenic spots in the bay. Paddle through turquoise lagoons, caves and grottoes and enjoy the quiet morning light before the crowds arrive

    Visit Koh Panyi, a fishing village built on stilts over the sea, founded by sea gypsy families. Have lunch here and walk through the village
