A walking tour to unravel the legends and unique history of this precious heritage corner of Delhi. Whole Old delhi revolves around “Chandni Chowk”. An erstwhhile posh street with canals during Mughal era filled up with running waters & in the night the canal waters used to reflect moonlight. Hence it came to be known as Chandni Chowk, literally meaning moonlight street. It is having the mansions of the Mughal nobility — typical courtyard houses with a grand gateway (deori). After the British occupation of the city, especially during the nineteenth century, the Jain merchants of Delhi prospered in trade and started building havelis, which now form the streetscape of the old city, in their quite deplorable state. The Jain traders re-introduced Rajasthani elements in Delhi’s architecture. The long running verandahs of these havelis, their austere courtyards, and heavily decorated drawing rooms mark a period of socio-cultural transition.

1Jama Masjid
Soon after walk for 15 minutes to reach 400 year old fabulous Old Delhi. We try either the tube OR TUK-TUK. We discover this beautiful grand 400 year old Mosque built by the great emperor "Shahjahan". Built by the same king who built "Taj Mahal". The entry fee of the mosque is INR 450/- Per Person, hence going inside is optional , hence if you don't want to pay & enter, then take photos from outside and we can continue the walk.

Traverse through the maize of alleys and bylanes of old neighborhood that encompass many ancient heritage houses and buildings. You can sip a hot cup of masala chai tea inside the busy life in the lanes

3Naughara - Row Of Nine Houses
Discover this hidden heritage lane of "Goldsmiths" of the erstwhile "Mughal" Emperors. They were stationed here by the "Mughal" emperors to craft handmade jewelry for them. What stands them apart that they make Stone inlaid jewelry. Like they place gems like "Lapis Lazuli", "Topaz" etc in the jewels. They are quite welcoming to let you see their secrets of Jewelry making. Also explore taking the photos of their stunning "Havelis" (heritage mansions)

4Chandni Chowk
Enjoy strolling this dazzling colorful streets which is frequented by the locals for getting wedding clothes and traditional attire on wholesale basis. Whole street is lively with local wedding shoppers and you can definitely try some some local safe street food on your own.
