This enchanting Summer palace was built by Sultan "Tipu" in the year 1784 AD on the island. The palace is built in the Indo-Sarcenic style. Tipu Sultan laid out a garden here as a welcome break from the mundane world. It is set amidst beautiful gardens called "Daria Daulat Bagh" .

This formidable is the second most impregnable forts in India, because it is guarded by the torrential river Kaveri offering the natural defense to the fortification. Tippu Sultan built , rather rebuilt, the fort with many ingenuous military architectural techniques of those days. There are also scary Dungeons where the captured prisoners were kept.
