You local host Jorge will welcome you with a warm smile and some lovely music playing in the background - Jorge has a collection of more than 1000 vinilos! The passionate cook can also make a wide variety of traditional Chilean dishes with a modern touch.

Jorge offers a hands-on experience, where you will get to cook along with him in his small kitchen. The cooking portion of the experience will last for 1 hour during which you will learn to make an appetizer and dessert. A few dishes that you might try are palta reina with tuna (tuna stuffed avocado), fresh bruschetta with Chilean canned mussels, pastel de papas (a classic dish made in Chilean homes, not always found in restaurants, similar to a shepherd’s pie) and Chilean papayas with cream.

What to expect

Jorge and Mariela have the sweetest love story - The two met at a concert where Jorge was performing and instantly felt connected. Jorge is a professional musician who is quite popular and recognized in Chile. Mariela lives in Buenos Aires and has a degree in tourism; she has worked as a tour guide for 8 years. Her job has allowed her to travel around the world and she can even speak 3 languages - Spanish, English and Portuguese! Jorge and Mariela often shuttle between Santiago and Buenos Aires, so that they can spend more time together!

Jorge learned cooking from his grandmother, who cooked for the whole family. You can expect an authentic, fresh, and delicious meal at Jorge and Mariela’s home while sharing stories, food, and music!
