What to expect

Visit a local home in the Matunga Five Gardens neighborhood of Mumbai for your private cooking class and local grocery visit. Meet Shilpa at her home and then drive to a neighborhood grocery store. Here you will be introduced to local fruits, vegetables, spices and grains. You might buy a few ingredients and return to Shilpa's home for your Punjabi cooking class. Your market tour will last for 30 minutes. Learn to make roti or paratha (flatbread), the traditional way in your Mumbai cooking class. She will also demonstrate how to make paneer makhni (fresh cheese in tomato gravy) and dal (lentils) that you will eat along with with rice or Indian breads.

Please note that this is not your traditional market tour at an open market; this market tour is of a covered grocery store where Mumbai locals shop for produce on a daily basis.
