What to expect

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Meet a wonderful Italian couple, Giorgia and Luigi at their rustic Tuscan farmhouse in the Radda in Chianti countryside. Start your culinary journey with a wine and olive oil tasting on the outdoor patio. The extra virgin olive oil that you will try and cook with is pressed from Giorgia’s olive trees. Next learn to cook a traditional Italian meal from Giorgia’s grandmother’s recipes that have been passed down through generations of her family. Your hands-on Italian cooking class in Radda in Chianti will last about two hours. You will learn to make 3 dishes made from scratch; an appetizer like panzanella (Tuscan tomato, cucumber and bread salad), a homemade pasta like tagliatelli, ravioli or maltagliati from scratch along with a Bolognese sauce (ragu) and tiramisu. Share the classic Italian meal you helped prepare with Giorgia and her husband Luigi at their outdoor dining table over wine and conversation about Italian life and culture. Giorgia occasionally hosts guests at her home and while there may be other people in the house, your experience with Giorgia will remain private.
