What to expect

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a private market tour and visit the home of a local to explore traditional culture and cuisine. Meet Cristina at her apartment and walk 10 minutes to a local, covered Lisbon market for your market tour. This is a neighborhood market where locals shop for regional produce and seafood. Cristina will introduce you to her favorite vendors where you will purchase ingredients for your cooking class. Please note that market tours are only offered on Saturdays. Your market tour will last about an hour after which you will walk back to Cristina’s apartment to start your cooking class. Join your host Cristina at her cozy apartment kitchen for a Lisbon cooking class and learn to cook traditional Portuguese family recipes. You will learn to cook three dishes from scratch that might include a typical Portuguese appetizer or soup, a fish or meat main dish, and a dessert. Your hands-on cooking class will last about an hour and a half before you sit down to enjoy the meal you helped prepared with Cristina.
