What to expect

Join Nadia for a hands-on German cooking class in Cologne inspired by her travels and living abroad in Rome. Interestingly, did you know Cologne was once a Roman colony for 500 years, from 50 BC until the 5th century AD? But the Romans were not the only ones who influenced German cuisine. What do bier and Bach have in common? Find out more as the 3.5 hour class goes on. As Nadia likes to cook using seasonal produce, you'll experience the same too in the menu which you will get to personalize by selecting options from the menu beforehand.

With autumn, comes the chance to make three dishes from scratch: kartoffelkloße (German potato dumplings), its accompanying sauce and not forgetting dessert to end the experience on a sweet note. Heard of Bratäpfel? A baked apple dessert typical in Germany. Nadia's take on it includes a spiced almond and poppy seed praline filling, eaten with a dollop of cardamom-scented, salted caramel cream. Each dish comes with a story, secret cooking tips, and intriguing facts on its origin and other curiosities. After cooking, you’ll sit down together to enjoy a 3-course meal.

For the market tour add-on, Nadia offers a neighborhood farmers' market tour.
