This tour includes several sites that many travelers to Cambodia miss because they are off the beaten path. While Angkor Wat steals the limelight, there are many other incredible temples in the Angkor region that are spectacular and impressive in their own right. The stunning carvings along the river at Kbal Spean will leave you in awe, and Banteay Srei is one of the best examples of what the Angkor temples originally looked like when they were built. Beng Mealea, in particular, has been nearly completely reclaimed by the jungle, creating a site of haunting beauty that travelers often have to themselves during their visit.
With pick-up at your accommodation and drop-off included, as well as an expert Khmer guide, an air-conditioned minibus, and chilled water, this is the perfect way to experience these lesser-visited sites. As this is a private tour, we’ll be happy to accommodate your preferred start time and tweak the itinerary as needed.

1Banteay Srei
Banteay Srei is a miniature temple in much better condition than most in Angkor. It received extensive restoration after it was 'rediscovered' in the early 20th century, including many elements being rebuilt with original materials. As such it provides an excellent insight into how many of the other Angkor temples might have looked when originally built (albeit smaller and without paint).

2Kbal Spean
Kbal Spean means 'Bridge Head' in Khmer and is an ancient Angkorian site, part of Phnom Kulen National Park. Its name comes from a natural sandstone rock bridge over the Kbal Spean River.

3Prasat Beng Mealea
Beng Mealea is one of Cambodia's hidden gems. Far from the rest of the Angkor temples, visitors often find themselves exploring the ruins alone, as many don't make the trip out to this haunting place. The temple has nearly completely been overtaken by the jungle, making it one of the least-conserved Angkor temples.
