The Road to the Lake City Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. As you wind along the banks of the Trishuli River, you’ll see terraced farms and small roadside villages. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Pokhara. Spend your evening relaxing by Phewa Lake, watching the sunset reflect off the Fishtail peak (Machhapuchhre).
The Legendary Stairs to Ulleri After a short, bumpy drive to Nayapul, it’s time to lace up your boots. Today’s challenge is the famous 3,300 stone steps leading up to Ulleri. It’s a bit of a workout for the legs, but the warm smiles of the locals and the growing mountain views make every step worth it.
Into the Enchanted Forest Today feels like walking through a fairy tale. You’ll trek for about 5 hours through ancient rhododendron and oak forests. If you are trekking in the spring, the whole forest turns red and pink with blooms. You'll end the day in the blue-roofed village of Ghorepani, right at the foot of the big peaks.
The Golden Sunrise at Poon Hill We wake up before dawn and hike to the top of Poon Hill (3,210m). Watching the sun hit the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges is a moment you’ll never forget. After a hearty breakfast back at the lodge, we continue to Tadapani, walking along ridges that offer massive mountain views all day long.
Culture and Green Valleys We descend through the lush forest to Ghandruk, a beautiful and traditional Gurung village. Take a moment to explore the stone houses and local museum here. After lunch, a private bus will pick us up for a smooth ride back to the comforts of Pokhara for a celebratory dinner.
Back to the Capital It’s time to say goodbye to the mountains. You’ll head back to Kathmandu today. Whether you choose the scenic bus ride to see the countryside one last time to get a final bird's-eye view of the Himalayas, you'll return with a camera full of photos and a heart full of memories.
