• Visit Ait Benhaddou: On the way, you’ll stop at the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Take a guided tour through the ancient mud-brick buildings, learning about the history and architecture of the area.
• Continue to Ouarzazate: After lunch, drive to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara" and home to many film studios. You can explore the town briefly, or if you prefer, continue towards a scenic stop between Ouarzazate and Zagora to spend your first night. • Overnight in Ouarzazate or En Route: Enjoy a restful evening in a traditional guesthouse or hotel. Depending on your pace, you might stay in Ouarzazate or somewhere along the road. Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner to wind down.
• Depart to Zagora: After breakfast, continue your journey towards Zagora, passing through the beautiful Draa Valley. The valley is dotted with kasbahs, palm groves, and small villages, offering a glimpse into rural Moroccan life.
• Visit Tamegroute: Make a stop in Tamegroute, known for its historical significance and unique craftsmanship. Visit the Tamegroute Library, where you'll find rare ancient manuscripts and books dating back to the 16th century. The library is an incredible repository of Islamic knowledge, and a guided tour will help you understand its fascinating history.
• Green Pottery in Tamegroute: Tamegroute is also renowned for its distinctive green pottery, which has been crafted in the area for centuries. You can visit a local pottery workshop, watch artisans at work, and purchase some beautiful handcrafted pottery as a souvenir.
• Arrival in Zagora: After your cultural stops, continue towards Zagora, a small town that serves as the "Gateway to the Sahara." • Camel Trek to the Desert Camp: From Zagora, take a camel trek into the desert. Arrive at the desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. • Overnight at the Desert Camp: Spend a magical night at the desert camp, enjoying traditional Berber music and a warm dinner around the campfire.
• Sunrise in the Desert: Wake up early to watch the stunning sunrise over the dunes. It’s a peaceful and awe-inspiring experience, with the sun casting golden hues across the sand. • Breakfast in the Desert: After sunrise, enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast at the camp. • Return Journey: After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Marrakech, retracing the scenic route through the Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains. • Arrival in Marrakech: You’ll arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, completing your 3-day desert adventure.
