Admire the main attraction of the Accademia Gallery, the magnificent David di Michelangelo. Michelangelo's David is one of the most famous sculptures in the world and a symbol of the Italian Renaissance. Created between 1501 and 1504 from Carrara marble, it depicts the young biblical hero David just before his battle with Goliath. Over 5 meters tall, the David impresses with its anatomical perfection, expression of strength and determination, and extraordinary detail.
