This excursion to Assisi and Cortona will bring you to discover two of the most beautiful cities in central Italy. The tour starts from your accommodation in Florence, where the driver will pick you up and then drive you to Assisi. The first stop on the way is in Passignano sul Trasimeno where you will be amazed by the breathtaking view of the Trasimeno lake. The tour will then continue to Assisi, where you will meet your guide for a guided visit to the historical city center of this fascinating medieval city. You will visit the Basilica of San Francesco, one of the most important religious sites in Italy (the Basilica of San Francesco is ALWAYS closed on Sundays). In the afternoon the tour will continue towards Cortona, in Tuscany. The city is famous for its medieval city centre which was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. There you will have free time to visit the city and have lunch. At the end of the day our driver will bring you back to your accommodation in Florence.
