On our Secret Food Tours: Milan, you’ll enjoy a vast variety of dishes and drinks deriving from the “Milanese” tradition.
We’ll take you around the Navigli area and explain what’s so special about it. Through food it will be easy to show you how Milan is the most international Italian city: that makes it also the most interesting for people from other cities to move to, which means? It’s the only Italian city where you can try food from all over the country: Sicilian, Calabrese, Neapolitan, Pugliese!
You’ll start with arancina from Sicily.
An intriguing historical prelude will introduce you to the most typical dish in Milan, “Risotto”. We'll have the privilege to eat it and also to learn the secrets and the preparation modalities behind this magnificent plate.

The Naviglio is a canal system in Milan, Italy, comprised of the Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese. The canals were originally built in the 12th century to connect Milan with other cities and to facilitate commerce. A "Porta Ticinese" was already part of the medieval walls of Milan (12th century); the medieval gate is one of the few remnants of the medieval walls that are still in place, and it is located in the same area as the modern "Porta Ticinese", but closer to the city centre (as the medieval walls enclosed a smaller area than the Spanish walls). The current location of the gate (in a plaza that is now called "Piazzale XIV Maggio") was established during the Spanish rule, in the 16th century.
