Mutianyu’s 2.5 kilometer stretch of the Great Wall allows you to walk for more than an hour as you explore 22 watchtowers and the valley on both sides of the Wall. During this half day hiking tour, you will be accompanied by private tour guide, travel back in time and see the Wall as it was when it was built hundreds of years ago.

What to expect
Usually it takes around 1.5 hours driving from Beijing downtown to Great Wall at Mutianyu Section. Located among the orchards and pines in the mountains to the north of Beijing, the Great Wall was constructed and reconstructed at Mutianyu to keep out the nomadic tribes to the north. Mutianyu Great Wall was built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), travel to this section to touch and explore the history of Great Wall built over 300 years ago, yet which remains largely intact as it snakes endlessly across the mountain ridgelines.
You may hike up on foot or take the cable car onto the Great Wall, walk on the Wall to explore the watchtowers and enjoy the surrounding natural scenery. To get down the Great Wall, you can walk step by step or take Toboggan slide down, please choose your preferred way and pay on the spot. After around 2 hours hiking on the Mutianyu Great Wall. Drive back to downtown and drop off at your hotel to conclude the tour.
