THIS IS A SOCIALLY DISTANCED TOUR. This private driver-guided tour takes you beyond Manhattan to Brooklyn. Brooklyn has been called the "Soul of New York." It is a place most tourists never visit and when they do, they don't wander in very far. You are sure to experience on this tour an exciting off the beaten tourist path adventure through the very "Soul of New York." Transportation is provided in the comfort of a roomy late model Toyota Sienna minivan, with capacity to accommodate up to six guests. To quote an on and off the stage Brooklynite (Ralph Kramden played by Jackie Gleason), "Brooklyn, how sweet it is!" PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PRIVATE DRIVING TOUR IS SOCIALLY DISTANCED FROM THE CROWDED CITY SIDEWALKS, SUBWAYS AND BUSES.
Departure Point: Any New York City location of the guests' choosing. Return point: Any New York City location of the guests' choosing.
On this private driver-guided tour, you will explore Brooklyn and what would be the fourth largest city in the United States, if it was still its own city (as it was until 1898). After pickup at the New York City location of your choice, you head out on an urban adventure, traveling by late model minivan from Greenpoint (sometimes known as Little Poland), all the way to Brighton Beach (known as Little Odessa).
Stop to spend time in Brooklyn Heights, the largest ensemble of pre-Civil War housing (mostly brownstones) in America. You can visit the first battleground of the American Revolution following the Declaration of Independence, which is now a cemetery. Then you have the chance to stroll along the lovely Brooklyn Promenade with beautiful views and photos of the Manhattan skyline.
Visit Brooklyn Bridge Park for great views of the BMW Bridges—the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg Bridges. Then head south to visit the Coney Island Boardwalk, next to the Atlantic Ocean, and walk along the beach. This nostalgic visit includes views of a seaside amusement park of yesteryear.
On the way through Brooklyn you visit Williamsburg, the largest ultra-conservative Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. Then see Park Slope, one of the nicest neighborhoods in New York, and Brooklyn's very own Chinatown, Sunset Park.
Finally, a visit to Brooklyn would not be complete without sampling some of the delicacies it is known for. Try water-boiled bagels (with cream cheese and lox), wood-fired, brick oven pizza, and Coney Island hot dogs (on Coney Island, no less), plus much more.
At the end of the day, you are sure to say of Brooklyn, along with Jackie Gleason / Ralph Kramden who lived in the borough both in real life and on television, "Brooklyn - how sweet it is!"
